SUBU Advice provides free, independent and confidential advice and information to BU students. 

An Advice Worker will listen to your concerns, ascertain what your options are to resolve the issue and support you to find a resolution. We are accredited by the Advice Quality Standard and are members of AdviceUK and the National Association of Student Money Advisers.

We provide non-judgemental advice and support in the follow areas:

Appointment only on Wednesday and Fridays and during undergraduate vacation times.

Third party enquiries

SUBU Advice does not take on enquiries from a third party (parent/lecturer), or contact a third party (landlord/money lender) without written consent from the student. We have a Consent to Share Form for this which can be emailed to our clients upon request.


Translation Service

We provide advice on a range of matters and the information you need to know maybe complex. We also understand that receiving advice in your first language may reduce anxiety and concerns about accessing our service. As such we are register with the Bournemouth Interpreters Group and can arrange for  either face-to-face translation or phone translation. We will require advanced notice of this in order to source a translator via the Bournemouth Interpreters Group. The cost of this service is free to the client accessing our service. Please indicate if you require a translator when you complete our online registration form.
