SUBU Debates

SUBU Debates provides students the opportunity to express their opinions and voice their thoughts in a safe space, with like minded people, and around various sensitive and topical issues. The SUBU Debate champions approve the debate topics and questions, but the ideas are submitted by students and members of clubs and societies who want to host a debate.

The first debate topic was cultural appropriation and fancy dress. The debate was heated and many different viewpoints were shared. Since the first debate, issues of sexism and feminism have been discussed. The next debate is set to be the biggest debate so far and is titled 'Is Religion accepting of the LGBTQ+ Community?'

SUBU Debates is ran by the Debate Champions, a group of students passionate about ensuring all students have a place to voice their opinions.
