Sex and Pregnancy

Whether you are concerned you may have an STI, or believe you may be pregnant, SUBU Advice is here to help and can point you in the right direction for specialist advice and support and, where necessary, advise you on relevant SUBU and BU Policies and Procedures, e.g. mitigating circumstances.

There are several services which can provide you with information, advice and guidance. A list of them can be found here.

If you are concerned about a particular issue or would simply like to have a check-up then you can access either the BU Medical Centre, F-risky, local GUM clinic at Bournemouth Hospital, Alma Medical Centre (Winton), or your own GP.

BU Medical Centre has a Sexual Health Clinic every Tuesday between 10:15 and 14:30. The service is free and confidential and they can offer screening, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and condoms.

If you feel you are coming to terms with having an STI or pregnancy then you can also access the Chaplaincy and/or Counselling Service.

You’re not alone!
