Moving away from home can be a daunting experience for some people. Leaving the familiarity of home can be a challenge and its all to easy to shut yourself away and feel like you are alone. Many students who study at BU get home sick, whether they are from overseas or an hours drive away - homesickness can have a detrimental impact on your ability to settle in.

If you would like someone to talk to then try having a chat with your housemates or someone you have met on your course. You may be surprised to find out they they also miss home comforts and their friends and family. If you would prefer to talk to someone else, then the team in Chaplaincy are a good starting point. If however you feel your homesickness is having a detrimental impact on your ability to sleep, eat, socialise etc.. then you may want to consider contact the Wellbeing Service for support.
