I'm Charlie, the Vice President Welfare 2017/18. Feel free to come and speak to me in the SUBU office, or email me email@example.com
If re-elected I will focus on:
MENTAL HEALTH: More training, support and awareness at Talbot and Lansdowne
HATE CRIME: Make SUBU a third party reporting centre alongside an anti-hate crime campaign
LIBERATION GROUPS: Boost awareness of these groups and increase representation by creating a council for each group.
"I believe I will make an excellent VP Welfare because during my time as SUBU Welfare Communications Executive. I had the opportunity to help others make the most of their time by making life easier in any way I could; holding that position also provided with unique knowledge about needs improvement and how to do it, and how to continue carrying my work at SUBU. I’m also a journalism graduate, and so I have been trained in questioning authority and representing the public interest , and this role gives me the chance to be able to dedicate all of my time and concentration to make BU students' lives at BU better."
As VP Welfare I will:
- Improve SUBU communications, so that students are more aware of what is happenning, what things they are being offered, and any changes that may affect them.
- Work with NUS to tackle big problems that matter most to us, like the NHS bursary cuts
- More support for students on placement and in final years, as they prepare to leave university
- Strive for further inclusion of Lansdowne and Postgraduate students in activities and events
